Our in house workshop is led by experienced and highly skilled luthiers and restorers.
To enable the swift and easy drop off of instruments we strongly encourage customers to book in instrument and bow repair assessments using the form below.
We offer a free, no-obligation assessment service for repairs and restorations. Once we have assessed your instrument we will contact you within 48 hours with our recommendation and estimate. Bow assessments may take longer.

Instrument Repairs & Restoration
Our comprehensive repairs service covers instruments and bows of all levels.
Repairs and set-ups are generally carried out within a week while urgent small repairs may be undertaken the same day, depending on the work required. Due to limited space the London shop can not carry out Double Bass repairs.
Full estimates are given prior to major repairs and restoration, which are carried out to an exacting standard by our senior luthiers in as short a time as possible.
Bow Rehairs & Repairs
At Stringers of Edinburgh we use an external expert to provide top quality bow rehairs and repairs. Thumb bands and lappings are also available via our weekly rehair service.
Please book in advance for rehairs and minor repairs where a fast turnaround is required.
