German Cello of the Dresden School, c.1900
£13,000
This cello is a typical example of fine quality instruments from Saxony that were built at the turn of the century in the Lowendall workshops, among others, in Dresden. The golden-brown varnish is of an attractive character with slight patina, the two-piece back with narrow flaming and matching ribs and scroll. This cello features a forthright robust sound with good projection.
